About This Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a full-time family physician to join our collaborative team. This clinic is located in a well-maintained facility with access to a meeting space and on-site parking. The clinic is fully integrated with other Primary Care Clinic sites in Central Zone and offers a flat rate and highly competitive overhead.

The physician at this clinic will have their own roster of patients and will work closely with community partners to deliver health education that aligns with PHC principles. The compensation is through the Longitudinal Family Medicine model (LFM), although Fee-for-Service (FFS) can be discussed.

Responsibilities
  • Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
  • Advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention
  • Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
  • Act as a patient's advocate
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations
  • Report births, deaths, contagious, and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements

Full-time hours

Qualifications
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
