Employee Relations General Coordinator

The Employee Relations General Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Employee Relations team, providing expert guidance and oversight of complex case files. This position may attend meetings to address escalating issues and take on tasks to enhance team productivity. The Employee Relations General Coordinator ensures effective communication among team members and with other departments.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a portfolio of case files or matters related to attendance or performance.
- Monitor, track, investigate, and follow up on attendance and performance-related issues for a geographic region.
- Attend investigative meetings with individuals to determine reasons for low attendance, including late arrivals and early departures. Take appropriate steps aligned with policy and programs to improve overall attendance of individuals not meeting minimal requirements.
- Assist in formal meetings, such as employee disciplines and grievances, and work closely with ER Coordinators and Labor Relations teams to maximize productivity.
- Hold or assist disciplinary meetings as they escalate through progressive discipline according to the Collective Agreement.
- Analyze information and evaluate results to determine the best solution.
- Develop and maintain reports on workforce absenteeism, lateness, or performance-related matters.
- Measure and analyze data on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to ensure targets are being met.
- Create, analyze, and distribute operational performance reporting and key performance indicators to senior leadership.
- Assist in developing long-term strategic plans and annual operating performance plans to establish outcome goals and define clear program strategies for measuring performance.
- Work with departmental teams to review programs and processes to solve operational performance issues.
- Act as a point of contact to filter inquiries between various departments.
- Provide coaching and feedback to the Workforce team on how they can improve their performance.
- Improve communication throughout the organization.
- Recognize an employee's efforts and build confidence in their abilities to establish a healthy relationship with the organization.
- Ensure the development is having a positive impact on workplace performance.
- Help empower and motivate employees to perform at their best.
- Plan and execute assigned special projects.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
- Education in Human Resource Management or a related field is an asset.
- 3-5+ years of Human Resources experience.
- 1-3+ years of Supervisor or Management experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- Demonstrated ability with training and development programs.
- Adept with performance management and investigations.
- Time Management: Uses their time effectively and efficiently; values time; concentrates their efforts on the more important priorities; gets more done in less time than others; can attend to a broader range of activities.
- Planning Accurately: Scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; sets objectives and goals; breaks down work into process steps; develops schedules and task/people assignments; anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks; measures performance against goals; evaluates results.
- Communication: Articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively using oral, written, visual, and non-verbal communication skills, as well as listening skills to gain understanding. The ability to deliver information in person, in writing, and in a digital world.
- Organizing: Can marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently arranges information and files in a useful manner.
- Physical requirements include but are not limited to - standing, walking, sitting for prolonged periods, and extensive use of a computer/electronic device.
- Ability to mentally focus and concentrate for prolonged periods.
- They analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Work with and near others. Will share the same workspace and work with people from varying organizational levels, divisions, departments, and geographical locations.
