We are seeking a skilled professional to become a part of our Accounting team as a Senior Financial Reporting Specialist. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. Prepare comprehensive year-end working paper files. Generate year-end and interim financial statements. Document year-end adjusting entries and reversing entries. Record all accruals while adhering to established cutoff procedures. Create digital copies of year-end working paper files upon completion. Prepare T2 corporate tax returns with accuracy. Review and validate monthly bank reconciliations. Ensure sub-ledger balances align with control accounts on a monthly and year-end basis. Reconcile intercompany accounts efficiently. Assist in facilitating annual audit and review engagements, liaising with auditors. Conduct legal inquiries for year-end processes, discussing collectability and reasonableness with the Legal team. Prepare components of consolidated financial statements. Maintain standardized procedures for CaseWare and CaseView. Uphold a paperless approach to working paper and year-end processes. Keep a schedule of loss carry forwards up to date. Provide assistance to VPs, Directors, COO, and CFO as needed.Qualifications:
Progress towards or completion of an accounting designation. A minimum of 3 years of experience in year-end files, working papers, and financial statement preparation. Proficient spreadsheet skills. Strong communication abilities. Experience in preparing clear and organized year-end working paper files. Knowledge in preparing T2 corporate tax returns. Familiarity with CaseWare and CaseView is advantageous. Experience with CanTax T2 is a plus. Knowledge of Acumatica and/or Yardi is beneficial.
