Position Overview:

As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing the health and well-being of clients enrolled in our transitional program, which includes seniors and individuals with disabilities. Your nursing services will be delivered within a clearly defined scope of practice. Additionally, you will ensure the safety and security of clients, staff, and visitors within the facility, responding appropriately to any emergency situations that may arise.

This role requires availability for 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited vocational or college program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a relevant regulatory authority is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possession of a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for Ontario is required.
  • Familiarity with Behaviour Strategies is advantageous.
  • Previous experience as an RPN, particularly with individuals with disabilities and the elderly, is beneficial.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and professionalism at all times; demonstrating sound judgment, flexibility, and problem-solving skills is crucial.
  • Certification in health and safety and first aid is a valuable asset.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting and transferring residents, is necessary.
