Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at St. Joseph's Health Centre Guelph. As a key member of our inter-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to our residents in a long-term care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties in accordance with legislation, standards of nursing practice, and policies and procedures of St. Joseph's Health Centre Guelph.
  • Demonstrate competency skills in the eight domains of gerontic nursing, including the helping role, teaching-coaching-counselling function, diagnostic and monitoring function, and more.
  • Assist the Charge Nurse with delegated duties and collaborate with the Nurse Practitioner in accordance with their respective roles.
  • Contribute to a transparent culture of client and staff safety by adhering to and abiding by resident and staff safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote an environment that encourages and supports change using change leadership theory.
Requirements
  • Experience in a long-term care setting is an asset.
  • Registered Practical Nurse with current CNO registration in good standing.
  • Medication and Added Skills Certificate or equivalent.
  • Current CPR.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, and excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
