Business Intelligence Application Specialist II

Position OverviewEmployment Type: Full-time
As an Application Specialist Level 2 reporting to the APM Business Intelligence team, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, support, documentation, and analytical services related to the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) platform. Your expertise in Oracle databases, OBIEE tools, dimensional data modeling, data warehouse architecture, and ETL design using ODI will be crucial in delivering effective Business Intelligence solutions across various departments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, test, implement, and maintain all facets of the OBIEE platform, including databases, data models, data warehouse architecture, ETL processes utilizing ODI, and performance tuning.
- Adhere to established change control protocols.
- Collaborate with Application Portfolio teams to comprehend data schemas and optimize existing queries for business intelligence tools.
- Engage in teamwork with other Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse developers to enhance current applications and create innovative solutions.
- Contribute to processes requiring expertise in Microsoft SSIS ETL.
- Provide production support to end users and participate in a rotation for ETL batch and OBIEE service level agreement support.
- Work closely with senior members of the Application Management team on various projects and tasks.
- Minimum of five years and less than ten years of experience in Information Technology.
- Experience in the retail industry is advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
- Strong knowledge of OBIEE 11g and experience with data warehouse implementation projects.
- Proficient in ODI 11g.
- In-depth understanding of OBIEE and ODI architecture.
- Expertise in OBIEE RPD design and report development.
- Familiarity with BI Publisher.
- Proficient in PL/SQL and SQL.
- Extensive experience in requirements gathering, OBIEE, and ODI development.
- Strong background in data modeling for data warehousing.
- Knowledge of performance tuning in OBIEE 11g.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux scripting.
- Understanding of Weblogic administration.
- Knowledge of Oracle OLAP/Cube is a plus.
- Familiarity with SSIS is an asset.
- Strong technical skills in data warehousing and business intelligence, including Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle databases, PL/SQL, data warehouse design, data modeling, and ETL process development.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive approach to identifying and completing tasks.
- Effective communication skills to educate business users on data warehousing and business intelligence technologies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of the Applications Management team.
