Redpath Sugar Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Analyst to join our Quality Team in Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our sugar products.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests, including sugar, molasses, and liquid sugar analysis.
- Collect, organize, and ship samples to external laboratories for further analysis.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and precision in testing.
- Collaborate with the Quality Team to identify and implement process improvements.
- Develop and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in proficiency testing and round robin testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including production teams and management, to ensure seamless integration of laboratory results into production processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing laboratory environment, preferably in the sugar industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to analyze complex data and identify trends and patterns.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and regulatory requirements in the food industry.
- Experience working with SAP or other laboratory information management systems.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with a focus on quality and process improvement.
