Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Analyst to join our team at Florida Crystals / ASR Group. As a Laboratory Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our sugar products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide array of testing, including raw sugar, molasses, and molasses by-products, liquid sugars, and various liquid blends.
  • Analyze and coordinate necessary communications related to Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Critical Quality Parameters (CQPs).
  • Prepare and coordinate necessary communications related to Certificate of Analysis (COA) data.
  • Perform and coordinate laboratory equipment verifications, troubleshooting, and third-party services.
  • Collect, organize, and ship various samples to third-party laboratories.
  • Collect, organize, and ship environmental monitoring program samples.
  • Organize and ship microbiological samples to third-party laboratories.
  • Review, update trends, and file records for data from various sources.
  • Manage effective communications related to issues, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Participate in all proficiency and round-robin testing assignments.
  • Participate in all quality and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) training.
  • Practice and promote plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety goals and procedures.

Required Education and Work Experience
  • Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university, with a major in food science or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in a manufacturing laboratory environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio).
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English.
Preferred Education and Work Experience
  • Experience working in sugar manufacturing or distribution.
  • Experience working with SAP.
