We are currently seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Lead to join our Ottawa office. This role involves overseeing a team of professionals responsible for managing all phases of major programs. You will provide expert advice to clients on developing, managing, and executing comprehensive project control strategies throughout the preconstruction and delivery stages. The successful candidate will lead an established team, leveraging extensive knowledge of best practices and experience with similar large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities- Offer guidance and specialized support for resolving complex project control challenges.
- Engage with clients, participate in regular meetings, and provide strategic recommendations on critical issues to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Assist clients in establishing a comprehensive program master coding structure, integrating all functional requirements, and developing a robust reporting system.
- Advise on the creation and implementation of project control procedures to ensure adherence to best practices in scheduling, cost management, earned value analysis, risk assessment, and change management.
- Oversee the preparation and monitoring of the Master Development Schedule.
- Manage a team of Project Control specialists qualified to analyze, evaluate, and forecast project costs and performance against established schedules with critical milestones, assessing the impact of design and construction changes.
- Ensure effective PMIS oversight and reporting.
- Recommend and supervise the implementation and customization of project control systems tailored to specific project needs.
- Coordinate staffing requirements, assign project tasks, and provide training to personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and set development goals for team members.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of relevant experience, including supervisory or managerial roles.
- Strong background in cost management and reporting is essential.
- Basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or related disciplines is required.
- Proficient in PC skills, including various Project Controls Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to perform in a supervisory capacity.
- Thorough understanding of industry practices is necessary.
- Secret clearance or the ability to obtain it is required.
- P.Eng, PMP certification is a plus.
