About the Role

Mama's Grocery is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out of our store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine Method of Shipment: Research and select the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods for our products.
  • Schedule Distribution of Goods: Coordinate with our suppliers and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Prepare Shipping Documents: Accurately prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Inspect and Verify Incoming Goods: Conduct thorough inspections of incoming goods to ensure they match our orders and are in good condition.
  • Maintain Internal Record-Keeping System: Accurately record and maintain all shipping and receiving activities to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Route Goods to Appropriate Storage Areas: Ensure that all goods are properly stored and organized to prevent damage and loss.
  • Pack and Unpack Goods: Safely pack and unpack goods to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Affix Identifying Information and Shipping Instructions: Accurately affix identifying information and shipping instructions on all shipments.
  • Oversee Loading and Unloading of Goods: Supervise the loading and unloading of goods to ensure safe and efficient handling.
  • Supervise Material Handlers and Helpers: Provide guidance and support to material handlers and helpers to ensure they are performing their duties safely and efficiently.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a logistics or shipping and receiving role.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively coordinate with suppliers, transportation providers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
