Job Title: Product Owner - Individual Project Management

Reports To: Director, Individual Projects and Production Support

Department: Individual Project Management

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month.

Job Summary

The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of their product by continuously making choices about what to build and what not to build. This includes managing the product vision, product backlog, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Vision: Develop and maintain a clear and concise product vision that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Product Backlog: Manage the product backlog, ensuring it is visible, transparent, and clear to all stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate decisions, define stories, and confirm when stories meet acceptance criteria.
  • Agile Ceremonies: Facilitate key agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, sprint refinement, and sprint review.
  • Client/Partner Value: Identify and describe client/partner value of the product item to the team to build a shared understanding.
  • Metrics and Monitoring: Set clear measures to monitor the health of the product, capabilities/assets, people, and delivery.
  • Decision Making: Provide decisions on experience, with support from Project Manager, Experience Analyst, Accountable Person(s) as needed.
Requirements
  • Business Acumen: Understanding the domain in which one works is essential, to help you understand how the technology can affect the business.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communications skills with the ability to make persuasive presentations and influence others.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Business Governance and Review practices, including creation of auditable artifacts and peer review processes.
  • Problem Solving: The ability to decompose complex issues and determine optimal solution across technology domains.
