Key Responsibilities

The Merchandise Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that all relevant stakeholders receive the necessary merchandise promptly to achieve marketing and operational goals. This position involves monitoring, gathering, preparing, and reporting on merchandise status to assist various teams and external service providers, including third-party photo studios. In instances where products are unavailable, you will source them through the appropriate channels. Additionally, you will track and manage merchandise required for different corporate projects from both internal and external sources. You will also address and resolve conflicts related to simultaneous product requirements, ensuring optimal cost recovery for merchandise and samples that are no longer needed.

  • Guarantee timely availability of merchandise for cross-functional stakeholders to meet marketing and operational goals.
  • Monitor, gather, prepare, and report on merchandise status to support various teams and external service providers, including third-party photo studios.
  • Source products through appropriate channels when they are not available.
  • Track and manage merchandise for various corporate initiatives from both internal and external sources.
  • Address and resolve conflicts regarding simultaneous product needs, ensuring optimal cost recovery for surplus merchandise and samples.
  • Collaborate closely with the Space Planning team to facilitate their processes by collecting line review samples and updating systems with product images and dimensions.
  • Utilize Cubiscan, an automated dimensioning tool, to accurately capture product dimensions for each sample. High-resolution images will be taken and uploaded into the JDA space planning software.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in retail environments is an asset.
  • Background in Visual Merchandising and Space Planning is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and engage in occasional physical tasks.
  • Strong customer service skills to support cross-functional operational teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Access.
  • Capability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Willingness to assist with various tasks and support team members as needed.
