Are you passionate about the aviation industry and thrive in a dynamic environment? Menzies Aviation is seeking a committed professional to maintain operational efficiency on the tarmac.
This role is primarily focused on servicing and repairing fueling apparatus to ensure we deliver 'Best-in-Class' service to our clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive work orders and gather the necessary tools for repairs.
- Transport vehicles to the service bay through driving, towing, or pushing.
- Work on various vehicles including tugs, forklifts, pay loaders, fuel trucks, and other large airport machinery.
- Inspect parts and vehicles to identify any defective or damaged components.
- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
- Acquire replacement parts and perform installations or repairs as needed.
- Engage in rebuilding assemblies and systems as required.
- Collaborate with the Supervisor for complex repairs that need direction or approval for parts ordering.
- Complete work orders and provide updates on any outstanding tasks.
- Ensure safe and secure operations, adhering to the highest standards of health, safety, security, and all relevant statutory requirements.
- Additional tasks may include changing batteries, tires, oil, and performing other minor repairs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be a qualified Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport Mechanic or possess an equivalent qualification, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of heavy-duty diesel and automotive equipment is essential.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex hydraulic and electrical systems is required.
- Must possess personal tools and demonstrate safe operation of various power and hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Flexibility to work various hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Capability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- A clean driving record with a certified copy of the Driver's Abstract is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all necessary security clearances and airport driving permits.
Required Qualifications:
