About This Opportunity

The Salvation Army is seeking dedicated Part-Time Instructors to join our team in providing exceptional support and guidance to individuals within our Day Program. As an instructor, you will play a vital role in fostering personal growth, skill development, and community engagement for program participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a positive role model and advocate for the well-being of program participants.
  • Cultivate independence in daily living skills and personal care routines.
  • Provide compassionate support in areas of personal development and health maintenance.
  • Lead engaging Enrichment Program activities, promoting learning and skill enhancement.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Actively participate in program planning meetings and contribute to a collaborative environment.
  • Facilitate effective communication and create a supportive learning atmosphere for all participants.
  • Represent the Day Program at relevant committees and meetings, sharing insights and perspectives.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Possess a Developmental Services Worker (DSW) Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Hold a valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's License.
  • Obtain certification in Standard First Aid/CPR and NCI.
  • Have prior experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities.
