OVERVIEW:

Kitco Metals Inc. is in search of an innovative Chief Information Officer to take a pivotal role in our executive leadership. This essential position will be responsible for defining and implementing our technological framework, fostering advancements that will optimize business processes and productivity throughout the organization.

Directly reporting to the President, the Chief Information Officer will:
  • Formulate a Revolutionary IT Strategy: Develop a detailed IT plan that aligns with Kitco's corporate objectives. Establish a transparent roadmap for technology integration and enhancement across the company.
  • Exhibit Financial and Leadership Skills: Strategically manage the IT budget, ensuring a balanced approach to resource distribution for technology investments while focusing on recruiting and nurturing a proficient IT workforce. Clearly demonstrate return on investment by connecting team development to improved organizational performance.
  • Promote a Culture of Cybersecurity: Actively address technology-related vulnerabilities by collaborating with internal teams and external partners to bolster cybersecurity protocols and safeguard vital assets and information.
  • Oversee Software Development Initiatives: Manage both internal and outsourced software development projects, advocating for best practices to guarantee effective project oversight, quality assurance, and timely delivery of solutions that adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Establish Strategic Vendor Relationships: Negotiate advantageous contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance and maximizing the benefits of technology partnerships.
  • Leverage Cloud Technologies for Business Continuity: Lead the implementation and administration of cloud solutions, enhancing IT adaptability, scalability, and ensuring robust business continuity strategies.
  • Collaborate Across Divisions: Work alongside leaders from various departments to harness technology for strategic business advantages and operational improvements.

KEY FUNCTIONS:
  • Strategic Direction: Design and execute IT initiatives that align with and advance the overall business strategy.
  • Team Leadership: Cultivate and guide a high-performing IT division through mentorship, professional growth, and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
  • IT Governance: Develop and implement strong frameworks to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient technology management.
  • Budget Oversight: Supervise the IT budget, optimizing resource allocation, and providing clear justifications for technology investments.
  • Infrastructure Management: Safeguard and manage the organization's IT infrastructure, prioritizing security, scalability, and resilience.
  • Provide Guidance for Technology Projects: Ensure timely project delivery and alignment with business objectives while promoting the adoption of best practices in project management and software development.
  • Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure service levels meet organizational standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary IT liaison within the organization, effectively communicating technical concepts for informed decision-making.
  • Change Leadership: Advocate for IT-related change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Performance Evaluation: Define, monitor, and act on IT performance metrics to continuously enhance service delivery and user satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. A Master's degree (MBA, MIS, etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of progressive IT experience, including over 5 years in a senior IT leadership position within a mid-to-large organization. Proven experience leading cross-functional IT teams, including project managers, software developers, and infrastructure specialists. Experience managing third-party vendors and familiarity with Microsoft-centric infrastructure is highly desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure (including cloud platforms), cybersecurity, software development methodologies, and emerging technologies. Proficiency in Microsoft technologies (Azure, SQL, API development), with experience in cloud infrastructure solutions (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform) and expertise in ERP systems and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento) is highly valued.
  • Strategic Insight: Proven track record in developing and executing IT strategies, managing complex projects, and driving operational excellence.
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional communication, leadership, and negotiation abilities. Capacity to collaborate effectively across teams and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience managing IT budgets and demonstrating clear ROI on technology investments.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications such as CISSP, PMP, ITIL are highly regarded.
