About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pedorthist to join our team at Lifemark, a leading healthcare provider dedicated to enriching the lives of Canadians through movement. As a Pedorthist, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical and psycho-social recovery of our clients, empowering them to live their lives to the fullest by alleviating their foot pain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct biomechanical assessments and casting/molding/scanning lower limbs for orthotics
  • Prepare assessment rooms and complete patient assessments
  • Check appointments and review client files/documentation
  • Discuss treatments, prepare treatment plans, and make referrals
  • Produce custom orthotics, complete orthotic/shoe modifications, bracing and compression clinical fittings
  • Educate clients on topics such as safe body mechanics, cognitive behavioral strategies, and functional tolerance activities
  • Support return-to-work programs (job coaching, accommodation recommendations)
  • Utilize e-charting software to document treatment sessions; submit reports to stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Participate in case conferences and case management
  • Collaborate with the inter-professional team at your clinic
  • Manage caseload in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
  • Valid Canadian Certified Pedorthist designation
  • Ability to confidently perform biomechanical assessment of lower limb anatomy, muscle, and joint function
  • Ability to determine optimal treatment plans and select appropriate foot orthoses/other pedorthic footwear
  • Ability to complete clinical fitting and modification of footwear, and design, manufacture, and modify foot appliances
  • Experience working in a clinical retail setting
  • Ability to be autonomous; working both independently and as part of the team
