We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to lead our Land Development team in Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing complex land development projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design team to establish scope, budget, and schedule for land development projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, project teams, and regulatory agencies to establish design objectives for submissions.
  • Pursue project financial targets and implement quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Provide technical support to project teams for tendering, contract administration, and construction inspection tasks.
  • Maintain internal project governance standards and keep clients informed of project status.
  • Engage with clients, architects, planners, and other industry leaders to generate awareness of GHD and its capabilities.
  • Ensure project design records and files are optimally managed and in accordance with GHD standards.
  • Coordinate staffing resources to meet project deadlines for multiple projects concurrently.
  • Liaise with municipalities, clients, and other approval agencies in the pursuit of approvals and general coordination of work plan.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary (college/university) civil engineering education.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in design and management of land development projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of the core land development design and approval process.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Planning Act and development application processes in Ontario.
  • Professional Engineer (designation is an asset).
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and mentor junior staff.
  • Ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple projects.
  • Challenge-driven and supportive of a team environment.
