Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Stuart Olson in Red Deer, AB. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair transmitters, switches, and control valves
  • Calibrate and adjust set points on various instruments
  • Coordinate with the control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers
  • Install and troubleshoot tubing and air-actuated instruments
  • Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems
  • Understand and practice company policies and procedures
  • Maintain safe work practices
  • Other duties as requested by the Supervisor

Requirements:

  • Must be a certified Instrumentation Journeyperson
  • Experience working maintenance in an operating Petro Chemical facility
  • CSTS 2020
  • Fall Protection (preferred, not mandatory)
  • Compliance to client site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing

Working Conditions:

  • Working at heights
  • Working in a confined space
  • Working in and around noise and dust
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Must be clean-shaven
  • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50lbs with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, or manipulate objects
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects
