Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Custodian at the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the facility and grounds, ensuring a clean and safe environment for visitors.
  • Perform regular cleaning tasks, including washrooms, garbage collection, and grounds maintenance.
  • Assist visitors with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
  • Report any issues or concerns to management.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including securing alarm systems.
  • Set up and tear down on-site functions as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and materials.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Ability to work varied shifts and weekends.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  • WHMIS certification and completion of Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness training.
Compensation and Benefits

CUPE 1287 Pay Group 1 – $19.28 to $22.04 per hour.

Expected Work Location: St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canal Centre.

Hours of Work: up to 24 hours per week.
