Senior Project Manager - Construction Sector
Location: Halifax
Reporting to: Regional Director - Atlantic
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion safety initiatives by executing the Safety Program and assessing the safety performance of the project team and subcontractors.
- Oversee planning, scheduling, and objective setting, while managing activities throughout the construction phase in collaboration with the Project Superintendent and Project Team.
- Administer and manage both prime contracts and subcontracts, including the negotiation and awarding processes.
Essential Qualifications:
- Formal education in a construction-related field.
- Proven experience in General Contracting, with direct project management or coordination of industrial projects.
- Strong capabilities in safety management, workforce supervision, project execution, cost management, quality assurance, and administrative tasks.
- Ability to interpret and understand contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project timelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office and MS Project; familiarity with Viewpoint Project Management software is advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
Additional Duties:
- Conduct cost reviews and identify potential revenue streams.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and overall project performance updates for Senior Management.
- Build and sustain positive relationships and effective communication with clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractors.
