Senior Project Manager - Construction Sector

Location: Halifax

Reporting to: Regional Director - Atlantic

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Champion safety initiatives by executing the Safety Program and assessing the safety performance of the project team and subcontractors.
  2. Oversee planning, scheduling, and objective setting, while managing activities throughout the construction phase in collaboration with the Project Superintendent and Project Team.
  3. Administer and manage both prime contracts and subcontracts, including the negotiation and awarding processes.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Formal education in a construction-related field.
  2. Proven experience in General Contracting, with direct project management or coordination of industrial projects.
  3. Strong capabilities in safety management, workforce supervision, project execution, cost management, quality assurance, and administrative tasks.
  4. Ability to interpret and understand contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project timelines.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office and MS Project; familiarity with Viewpoint Project Management software is advantageous.
  2. Bilingual proficiency is a plus.


Additional Duties:

  1. Conduct cost reviews and identify potential revenue streams.
  2. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and overall project performance updates for Senior Management.
  3. Build and sustain positive relationships and effective communication with clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractors.
