Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our Building Infrastructure Design and Construction Division, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex building construction projects from design to completion.
Primary Accountabilities- Manage contracts with contractors and consultants to ensure successful project delivery
- Monitor and update project costs, schedule, and scope to ensure compliance with Public Works policies
- Lead a project team of professional designers, builders, inspectors, and other key project members to identify and resolve issues and remove roadblocks
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project delivery
- Liaise between Public Works and client groups throughout the duration of the projects
- Ensure safety is of top priority and work is carried out in accordance with the OHS Act and Regulations, as well as Department standards and policies
- Provide a smooth transition to end users by ensuring the building is ready for occupancy
To be successful in this role, you must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering institution with a minimum of six (6) years of experience managing large and complex building construction projects. Alternatively, you may have an Architecture degree from an accredited architecture institution with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience managing large and complex building construction projects. You must also be actively registered as a Full Member (P.Eng) with Engineers Nova Scotia (ENS) or the Nova Scotia Association of Architects (NSAA).

This is a bargaining unit position initially restricted to current civil service employees represented by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union (NSGEU).
