Job Summary

Avitaj Trucking Ltd. is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across international routes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel Arrangements: Arrange travel itineraries and make reservations for safe and efficient transportation.
  • Team Driving: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring safe and timely delivery of goods.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods with precision and care, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Permits and Documents: Obtain special permits and documents required for international cargo transportation.
  • Vehicle Operations: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle reliability and efficiency.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Cargo Management: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo through tarping and other measures.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Language: English language proficiency required.
  • Work Hours: 50 hours per week, with a focus on flexibility and adaptability.
