About the Position

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking qualified Language Instructors to fill teaching and/or supply teaching positions in our International Languages Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement a program that is optimal for the target language learning and reflects current teaching practices in Ontario.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students.
  • Familiarity with digital tools to teach virtually if required.
  • Incorporate equitable and inclusive learning practices.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress.
  • Communicate students' progress to parents/guardians and students.
  • Supervise students in the virtual learning setting.
  • Attend professional development learning opportunities.
Eligibility and Qualifications
  • Fluency in the target language.
  • Teaching experience, with preference to teaching experience of the Japanese language.
  • Related degree or diploma, with preference to Ontario College of Teachers' certification or equivalent.
Compensation and Benefits

The rate of pay for an IILP instructor ranges between $21.26 to $% vac pay per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
