Data Platform Architect

As a Data Platform Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the core data systems that underpin iStockPhoto's success. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and Maintaining: Backend engineering for microservices serving as access points to iStockPhoto's data and AI platform.
  • Building Scalable Solutions: Creating software solutions to enhance data processing and analytics capabilities, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with engineering, data science, and product teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Focus on Reliability and Security: Implementing robust security measures and ensuring the availability and resilience of data services.
  • Ownership and Quality: Taking ownership of projects from conception to deployment, maintaining high code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Automation: Leading efforts to automate manual processes and build efficient data pipelines.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python, Spark, and MySQL.
  • Extensive experience with AWS cloud engineering.
  • Expertise in Databricks and Snowflake warehousing.
  • Experience in DevOps using Terraform and monitoring tools.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to balance priorities.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with containers, search algorithms, CI/CD, and NLP.
