We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Counsellor to join our team at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre. As a Clinical Counsellor, you will work with patients to identify their goals and expectations, and provide individual and group counselling to support their health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, including assessments, treatment planning, and crisis intervention.
- Provide group therapy and psychoeducation sessions to support patient learning and growth.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including documentation of telephone and in-person contacts.
- Consult with healthcare providers and community agencies to ensure seamless care and support for patients.
- Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community care providers to support patient access to resources and services.
- Provide education and training to healthcare professionals and colleagues on counselling concepts and best practices.
- Initiate and participate in program-sponsored research to advance knowledge and practice in the field of clinical counselling.
- Master's degree in a health-related discipline, such as Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology.
- Specific training and certification applicable to the program area and patient population.
- Two years of recent related work experience in community and/or hospital organizations, including experience working with diverse client populations.
- Eligibility for membership and registration in the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
