Job Description

**Job Title:** Civil Engineer Project Manager

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer Project Manager to join our team at Recruitment By Design. As a key member of our Civil Division, you will be responsible for managing and leading projects, reviewing and sealing design work, directing and mentoring the design team, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage and lead projects from initiation to closure, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
  • Review and seal design work, ensuring accuracy and conformance to design standards.
  • Direct and mentor the design team, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Coordinate daily team priorities to achieve project milestones.
  • Provide technical guidance to designers and junior staff.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of tender and contract documents.
  • Represent the company with approval authorities and third parties for coordination.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian University.
  • L.E.T. and relevant experience in Civil Engineering also considered.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a licensed Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario preferred.
  • C.E.T., C.Tech., or PMP designations are also considered relevant designations as well as relevant experience through projects and previous references.
  • 4+ years of experience in Civil Engineering, with a focus on consulting/design.
  • Experience with Provincial and local Municipality design guidelines, the Ontario Building Code, and other applicable Canadian Engineering standards.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD suites.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective team builder with demonstrated abilities to motivate all levels of staff.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional and personal growth; willingness to learn.
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Capable of working on and/or managing several projects at the same time and with the projects in different stages.
