About This Opportunity

Black & McDonald's Mechanical & Electrical ICI team is expanding its capabilities. We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our collaborative and innovative team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of estimating, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures. They will also liaise with customers to maintain continuity of work opportunities and with vendors to maintain competitiveness within the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of probable costs of materials, labor, and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications.
  • Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, and recommend tender awards.
  • Participate in site reviews, tender reviews, tender hand-offs, project closings, and operational/sector meetings.
  • Develop and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors.

Education Requirements
  • Graduate of electrical estimating or construction program
  • Several years' experience working in the electrical construction sector
Work Experience Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience in estimating electrical ICI construction work, preferably on P3 projects
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements

Proficient knowledge and understanding of:

  • Estimate closure
  • Project electrical design interpretation
  • Construction scheduling, planning, and execution
  • Organization and time management
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with deadlines

Advanced user of:

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Accubid
