Location: Etobicoke, ON

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Superintendent, the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor for the Afternoon/Evening shift is tasked with overseeing the scheduling and management of fleet maintenance to maximize vehicle availability.
  • Enhance the efficiency and productivity of our ready-mix operations through effective preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly work environment across all garages.
  • Guarantee that all fleet vehicles are maintained in a safe and operational condition.
  • Coordinate and supervise preventive maintenance, major repairs, and daily operational issues while aligning repair schedules with budgetary and production requirements.
  • Monitor the performance of garage personnel through regular communication and site visits.
  • Ensure balanced workloads for garage staff and effective coordination with the afternoon shift supervisor.
  • Provide leadership, support, and disciplinary measures for employees; address grievances, and manage performance evaluations.
  • Ensure proper adherence to Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Foster positive working conditions and team dynamics within Operations, Dispatch, Quality, and Maintenance teams while addressing any grievances.
  • Maintain daily communication with central dispatch to ensure fleet readiness for planned workloads.

Qualifications:

  • Valid 310T Mechanics license.
  • Ability to quickly assess maintenance issues and make informed decisions.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a unionized setting is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in computer applications is beneficial.
  • Valid driver’s license.
