About This Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Family Medicine Physician to join our team at the Annapolis Community Health Centre. As a member of our collaborative practice, you will work alongside a team of experienced healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.

Responsibilities will include ensuring the delivery of high-quality primary health care services, being accountable for workload and practice, and providing continuum of patient care with healthcare providers within the practice and community. You will also be responsible for providing care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level healthcare, and building to capacity within the first two years.

As a Family Medicine Physician with Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with access to resources and training to help you grow and develop in your career.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • Be accountable for appropriate workload and practice
  • Continuum of patient care with healthcare providers within the practice and community
  • Provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level healthcare
  • Build to capacity within the first two years
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority
  • Work toward same day or next day access for the practice population
  • Work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community's health needs
  • Work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required
  • Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities
  • Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Qualifications
  • All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
  • All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada
  • Experience working in an emergency department is an asset
  • Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
  • Advanced trauma life support (ATLS)
  • Basic life support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
