Operational Due Diligence Director

iCapital is seeking a seasoned Senior Vice President to lead the Operational Due Diligence (ODD) team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of operational risks, internal controls, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Operational Due Diligence: Conduct and oversee comprehensive operational due diligence on investment opportunities, including site visits, interviews, and detailed analysis of operational processes.
- Assess External Fund Managers: Evaluate private equity, private credit, and real assets fund managers, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Risk Assessment: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate operational risks associated with potential and existing investments.
- Due Diligence Reports: Prepare and present detailed due diligence reports, summarizing findings and providing recommendations to the investment committee.
- Monitor Investments: Regularly monitor the operational performance of portfolio companies to ensure compliance with established standards and identify emerging risks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with investment teams, legal, compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to due diligence and risk management.
- Industry Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in operational due diligence and risk management.
- Training and Development: Mentor and train junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, accounting, or a related field. An MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- Experience: 10-15 years of experience in operational due diligence, risk management, internal audit, or a related field within the investment industry.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and persuasively.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Project Management: Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
