We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and Test Engineer to join our team at Macdonald, Dettwiler And Associates Corporation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test test equipment used for satellite electronic units;
  • Support the testing of satellite electronic units, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations;
  • Contribute to the development of test station architecture and job definition, leveraging expertise in electrical engineering and test equipment design;
  • Supervise the work of junior engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure successful project delivery;
  • Design and support the manufacturing of electrical test equipment and cable harnesses, ensuring high-quality and reliability;
  • Produce detailed design documentation, including electrical diagrams, assembly drawings, and bill of materials;
  • Perform analyses and write test procedures, ensuring thorough and accurate testing of satellite electronic units;
  • Support procurement, manufacturing, and validation of test equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery;

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, test equipment design, and development;
  • Hands-on experience in electronic design, with a focus on digital, analog, power, or RF electronics;
  • Practical experience in electronics test station design and manufacture, with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations;
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills;
  • Laboratory skills and experience with instruments such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and arbitrary signal generators;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Printed circuit board (PCB) design skills using PCB CAD tools;
  • Knowledge of functional testing of automated systems, ideally in RF, telecommunications, or high-speed digital systems;
  • Understanding of communication protocols;
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Visio proficiency;
