We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test to join our simulation team at Vention. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving quality assurance practices and infrastructure for our authoring platform.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Assurance Ownership: Assume ownership of quality assurance for the simulation workspace within Vention's cloud-based design & automation tools, MachineBuilder & MachineLogic.
- Test Case Design: Design and build test cases, prioritize testing requirements, and communicate risk for cases not covered by testing.
- Integration Testing: Work with other teams to ensure end-to-end integration testing is well documented and has sufficient coverage for cross-team projects.
- Test Automation: Implement test automation strategies (frameworks, harnesses, continuous integration) to enable test-authoring in day-to-day development & QA activities.
- QA Data Pipelines: Design QA data pipelines to ensure testing environments are set up with representative data to cover agreed-upon test coverage.
- Automation Dashboards: Build QA automation dashboards to report on test coverage and overall quality metrics.
- PR Reviews: Participate in PR reviews to drive quality practices with the engineering team.
- Agile Ceremonies: Participate in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, backlog reviews & sprint demonstrations.
- Automation Roadmap: Ensure test plans have an automation roadmap based on expected consistency of a feature set.
- Test Automation Tools: Experience with test automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, QASE, Postman, etc.
- Development Background: Strong development background in automation scripting, data management, and automation (JavaScript, intermediate SQL skills, JSON, XML, etc.).
- Software Testing: Extensive experience in software testing, QA methodologies, testing processes, and testing tools.
- Documentation Skills: Excellent documentation skills to build and maintain test documentation and have a clear understanding of test coverage for any testing playbook.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to work cooperatively with developers, managers, and project stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented mindset, and patience in finding and identifying bugs.
- Ownership: Eager to show ownership and improve products incrementally while being mindful of business priorities.
- Operating Systems: Proficiency with Mac & Linux operating systems.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- CAD Tools: Nice to have: Familiarity with CAD tools such as Solidworks, Inventor, or Fusion360.
