Purchasing Specialist Job Description

At PML Sound International, we are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for sourcing new suppliers, ensuring that purchased products and materials meet specific technical specifications, negotiating purchase terms, and evaluating supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement and Sourcing: Research and identify prospective suppliers, prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditions.
  • Supplier Management: Liaise with internal teams, maintain strong supplier relations, and evaluate products and suppliers according to key business criteria.
  • Purchase Order Management: Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements, monitor supplier performance, and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings.
  • Industry Trends and Analysis: Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Prepare reports and maintain accurate inventory and procurement records.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a purchasing specialist or in a similar role.
  • Skills: Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies, excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Sheets with business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems.
