We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager, Infrastructure Development to join our Water/Wastewater Linear Infrastructure team at Burnside & Associates Limited. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in municipal linear infrastructure design, contract administration, and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, study, design, approval, and construction administration of linear infrastructure projects for local servicing, transmission, collection, and/or conveyance infrastructure utilizing various construction methods.
- Work closely with design teams to produce preliminary and detailed design drawings, prepare related reports, coordinate approvals, develop construction cost estimates, and liaise with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors.
- Support construction inspectors in the field and contract administrators in the office to become familiar with construction techniques and adapt to unexpected challenges encountered during construction.
- Collaborate with senior project managers and senior engineers across the company to further develop technical skills.
- Contribute to project teams to ensure successful project delivery meeting client needs.
- Prepare proposals, project reports, design documents, and permit applications.
- Mentor and assist in the development of engineering students, engineers-in-training, and junior project engineers/technologists.
- An engineering degree in a related discipline.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience with municipal linear infrastructure design, contract administration, and client relationships.
- Knowledge of municipal and provincial approval processes and relevant agency and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Strong communication, written, and analytical skills.
- Excellent organization with the ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects concurrently.
- Understanding of and/or experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.
- MS Office and MS Project.
- Experience with trenchless construction (e.g., horizontal auger boring, horizontal directional drilling, microtunneling, etc.).
