About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Estimator to join our team at Michael Page International Canada Limited. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for providing expert estimating services for renovation and construction management projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Development: Participate in project development activities, including scope definition, preconstruction planning, control estimate development, and delivery.
  • Preconstruction Services: Provide preconstruction services, including the preparation of preliminary budgets, cost plans, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Expense Management: Determine general expenses and provide input into margins and fees.
  • Estimate Development: Coordinate the preparation and performance of full detailed quantity takeoff estimates, identifying inherent risk and opportunities.
  • Subcontractor Management: Solicit information from subcontractors and suppliers, and analyze subcontractor requirements.
  • Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiating and awarding contracts.
  • Project Planning: Assist in project planning and scheduling.
Requirements
  • Experience: 8-10+ years of estimating experience on renovations and construction management projects.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the ICI construction environment, specifically on the general contracting side of the ICI industry, in institutional construction.
  • Estimating Skills: Knowledge of lump sum, construction management, and conceptual estimating for electronic take-offs.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience using estimating software, such as Timberline Estimating, Prime Bid, or On-Centre Takeoff, is an asset.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in quantity surveying, estimating, architectural technology, or engineering technology.
About the Company

Our client is a well-established full-service construction general contracting company with decades of successful experience building challenging projects throughout Ontario.

Compensation: $120,000-$140,000 base salary plus bonus.
