About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our electrical construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering projects on-time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution: Establish and achieve project targets and milestones, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Health and Safety Leadership: Promote and lead health and safety initiatives, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Project Monitoring and Control: Monitor and provide status updates on work in progress, forecasts, cost control, and project schedule, in line with our T.I.M.E. efficiency program.
  • Problem Identification and Mitigation: Proactively identify potential problems and schedule delays, and bring them to management's attention.
  • Quality Assurance and Commissioning: Lead and manage project quality assurance, commissioning, and handover objectives.
  • Value Engineering and Cost Savings: Develop and lead value engineering, cost savings, and pricing initiatives and activities.
  • Critical Path Activities: Monitor and analyze critical path activities, and advise the project team accordingly.
  • Short Interval Planning: Review and manage short interval planning.
  • Pre-Job Planning: Lead pre-job planning, including estimate turnover, kick-off meetings, subcontractor selection, material handling strategies, and opportunities for risk management and improved productivity.
  • Site Supervision and Labour Management: Follow up with site supervision on labour/manpower progress, identify and reduce roadblocks to success.
  • Project Team Management: Manage the project team to ensure requirements for document control, change order process, coordination of equipment and material deliveries, site meetings, and progress documentation are adhered to.
  • Candidate Development: Identify opportunities to provide project team members with regular feedback, coaching, and training.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with clients, general contractors, and engineers to positively contribute to the success of the project.
Requirements
  • Education: Electrical Engineering post-secondary education or related.
  • Experience: A minimum of seven (10) years electrical construction project management experience; trade experience a definite asset.
  • Project Management Experience: Experience managing large-scale electrical commercial and institutional projects.
  • Electrical Construction Experience: Electrical construction experience preferred.
