BlackBerry QNX is a leading provider of safe and secure operating systems, hypervisors, frameworks, and development tools. We offer expert support and services for building critical embedded systems.
We are seeking a skilled Systems Integration Developer to work with our newest and largest customers. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding module and system level architecture from the early stages of projects. You will work with the entire suite of QNX products, including Hypervisor, QAVF, Blackchannel, Acoustics, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish module and system level architecture at the beginning of projects
- Make recommendations for using QNX products to achieve best practices
- Run experiments to prove out architectural decisions
- Troubleshoot and debug customer issues
- Participate in safety and security related topics (training will be provided)
- Write Proof Of Concept apps to aid integration of QNX modules into customer systems
- Deep dive into performance issues and possible optimizations
- Learn how to leverage differences in various HW platforms to an advantage
Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience
- Strong C programming skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of GCC and GDB is considered an asset
- Experience working on large projects with high levels of integration would be an asset
- Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation skills
- Hands on development experience using embedded operating systems (QNX, Linux, GreenHills, VXworks preferred)
- Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills
- Proven ability to deal with sensitive matters with diplomacy, tact, and confidentiality
- Enthusiasm and a desire to learn about new technologies
- Hands on experience in the development of software following safety standards (ISO26262, IEC61508, etc) or MIL standards would be a standout skill
This role involves some travel within North America and Europe.
