Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Operations Centre Guard to join our team at Paladin Security. As a Security Operations Centre Guard, you will be responsible for monitoring and operating all systems in the Security Operations Centre, including communication systems, CCTV, access control, fire panels, and security records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and operate all systems in the Security Operations Centre, including communication systems, CCTV, access control, fire panels, and security records.
  • Provide clear and concise communication to security staff and maintain a positive relationship with Brookfield representatives and their guests.
  • Record all information in a detailed and factual manner and follow communication guidelines issued by the client.
  • Be familiar with all Brookfield Standard Operating Procedures and Emergency Procedures.
  • Have very strong communication and customer service skills and write detailed, factual, and concise incident reports for all incidents.
  • Provide ongoing support to the Supervisors and Site Supervisor as required and maintain positive and constructive relationships with Brookfield staff and external clients.
  • Assist the Shift Supervisor to review security incident reports and ensure staff are dispatched to calls for service and security-related incidents.
  • Record all relevant details in the Communication and Dispatch Log (CDL) and conduct random spot checks on the radio and CCTV to ensure staff are in their designated posts/zones.

Requirements:

  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of security technology, including CCTV, access control, fire alarm, intrusion, and incident management systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal legislation and regulations in the area of security.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong command of the English language.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable in dealing with a diversity of situations and people and ability to work efficiently under stress.
  • Team player and ability to work collaboratively with others.

Working Conditions:

The Security Operations Centre Guard will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and will be required to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and customer service skills.
