The University of British Columbia's Eating Disorders Program at BC Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant/Technician 3 to support a grant-funded study on training of health professionals who work in the field of eating disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with study administration and data entry/checking, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Recruit participants, including clinicians, youth, and families, and collect, record, and analyze experiment results.
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and research team to design research studies and develop knowledge translation activities.
- Prepare reports, ethics applications, and other documents as required.
- Assist with aspects of running the project, including purchasing supplies and equipment, maintaining accounts, and overseeing junior staff and students.
- Completion of a relevant technical program or a university degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinicians, youth, and families.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and SPSS, as well as the ability to learn new software and systems.
- Experience working in a clinical research setting and/or conducting clinical interviews.
- Ability to identify and correct missing and incomplete data.
- Ability to accurately maintain appointment calendars and schedule appointments.
- Ability to create and maintain accurate record and filing systems.
- Ability to gather, record, and organize information effectively.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
