Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant/Technician 3 to support a deprescribing guideline project led by Dr. Wade Thompson. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to developing a clinical practice guideline and performing evidence syntheses, including systematic and non-systematic reviews, and using evidence to form recommendations with a team of experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design data collection forms, perform data analysis, knowledge synthesis, and critical appraisal of clinical studies
  • Draft and prepare scientific manuscripts for publication in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
  • Coordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking minutes
  • Field, direct, and track communication from study participants and research collaborators
  • Use diplomacy, persuasiveness, and tact in dealing with study participants, research collaborators, and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • Completion of a relevant technical program or university degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment

Working Environment

The Research Assistant/Technician 3 will be located in Vancouver and will work collaboratively with other research team members in the TI's Offices in Victoria and Vancouver.
