Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Lead Process Engineering Specialist to join our Project Engineering team. This role is pivotal in overseeing and executing capital projects that involve the installation and renovation of biopharmaceutical process systems, facilities, and utilities within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage capital projects throughout their entire lifecycle, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and interdepartmental coordination.
- Develop project scopes based on client needs, conduct cost estimations, and prepare financial documentation for capital expenditure requests.
- Conduct design reviews, including specifications and procurement, and oversee the management of fabrication and installation of equipment related to biologics production.
- Generate user requirements and technical specifications to support automation processes and programming.
- Perform engineering calculations for sizing process lines and equipment, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
- Assist in the procurement process by generating purchase requisitions for project-related equipment and labor.
- Oversee the mechanical design of vendor-fabricated equipment, ensuring all vendor submissions are reviewed and approved.
- Manage validation activities for biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical systems to ensure compliance with design parameters.
- Prepare and present regular project status updates to internal stakeholders in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering or operational experience. Candidates should possess:
- Extensive experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and biologics equipment operation.
- Technical expertise in engineering, maintenance, instrumentation service, calibration, and metrology.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent planning and organizational capabilities.
- Robust technical knowledge of engineering concepts and practices.
