About the Opportunity

The Health Care Social Worker is a key member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing collaborative, holistic care across the primary to quaternary care continuum. This role focuses on the relationships between individuals and their environments, which are integral to psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The social determinants of health are embedded in social work theory and practice, and this position is concerned with the dynamic and interactive process of engagement, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker who possesses a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a recognized university and is currently registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers. The ideal candidate will have two years of post-BSW clinical experience and knowledge of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Previous experience working in adult community mental health is preferred, as is familiarity with various evidence-based treatment approaches for use with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. The successful candidate will demonstrate a client-/family-centered approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with community partners. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly, including evening shifts. The hourly rate is $42.89, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
