The Salvation Army London Village is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respite Support Staff to join our team. As a Respite Support Staff, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to adults and children with intellectual disabilities.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced individual to provide respite care to individuals with intellectual disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and care to our clients, including assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide care and support to adults and children with intellectual disabilities
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Provide emotional support and promote independence
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements:
  • Completed two (2) years of Community College in related education (Developmental Service Worker diploma, Child and Youth Worker diploma or equivalent) in the area of developmental disabilities
  • Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Minimum of one (1) year of prior related experience, including direct care work in a social service setting; dealing with crises
Working Conditions:

This is a permanent part-time position based on 16 hours x 2 weekends per month. Flexibility in scheduling is required to meet program requirements.
