The Salvation Army London Village is seeking a Respite Support Staff to join their team. In this role, you will provide care and support to adults and children with intellectual disabilities, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized care and support to program participants, ensuring their physical, emotional, and medical needs are met.
  • Contribute to the planning and facilitation of recreation and leisure activities, promoting inclusion and community participation.
  • Advocate on behalf of program participants to promote their health and well-being.
  • Ensure proper recording and documentation of participant records and program activities.

Requirements:

  • Completed two years of Community College in a related field (Developmental Service Worker diploma, Child and Youth Worker diploma, or equivalent).
  • Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification and First Aid & CPR Certification.
  • Minimum one year of prior related experience, including direct care work in a social service setting.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a permanent part-time position, working 16 hours over two weekends per month.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is required to meet program needs.
