Financial Reporting and Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting and Accounting Manager to join our team at Best Buy Canada. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial statements, as well as providing strategic guidance to our business partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the monthly general ledger reconciliation process and balance sheet and profit and loss variance analysis
  • Manage resources to ensure that deadlines are met for month-end closing and accounting for assigned areas of responsibility is in compliance with US GAAP
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to apply professional judgment in accounting for new business opportunities and processes
  • Design and implement SOX and non-SOX processes related to financial statements and month-end reporting to ensure compliance with SOPs and US GAAP
  • Build a best-in-class controllership team through ongoing recruitment, development, recognition, and performance management
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a mid-large size organization
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing a team
  • Strong knowledge and application of GAAP
  • An accounting designation (e.g. CPA, CA)
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with large and complex data sets and related tools
