Accoravillage is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, News to lead our news team in creating engaging and informative content for our audience. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for guiding editorial decision-making, overseeing daily news operations, and ensuring the highest quality of content across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Editorial Leadership: Provide strategic direction and guidance to the news team, ensuring that our content meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and engagement.
- Content Development: Oversee the development of original content, including news articles, videos, and social media posts, to meet the needs of our audience.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of journalists, producers, and other editorial staff to ensure that they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, sales, and production, to ensure that our content aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all content meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and engagement, and that any errors or issues are addressed promptly.
- Adaptability: Be able to adapt to changing circumstances, including breaking news and unexpected events, and to adjust our content strategy accordingly.
Requirements:
- Education: Post-secondary education in broadcast journalism or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a local newsroom, with a proven track record of success in editorial leadership and content development.
- Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of journalists and producers. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and to adjust our content strategy accordingly.
- Other: A valid driver's license and a strong understanding of news law and ethics.
