ABOUT THIS POSITION
At Black & McDonald, our Power Generation division is expanding. We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative professional to enhance our innovative team.
The Document Control Coordinator plays a crucial role in our Pickering office, reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager. This essential support position within the Quality Assurance department acts as a central hub for various departmental functions. The role is integral to our continuous improvement initiatives and is committed to upholding the highest standards of service quality excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees and updates the electronic tracking system for engineering and project documentation, ensuring quality checks are performed to verify completeness and adherence to document standards.
- Creates, updates, scans, and maintains files, inventories, records, and other engineering and project-related documents as necessary.
- Facilitates the document control process by coordinating with various departments.
- Engages with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to address discrepancies and compile necessary amendments to documents.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
- A Secondary Education Diploma is advantageous but not mandatory.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in Administrative and/or Document Control roles is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in an office setting utilizing standard office equipment such as photocopiers, scanners, printers, faxes, and shredders.
- Familiarity with VenDM is a plus.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions in a dynamic environment, accommodating requests from various levels of authority.
- Experience within an engineering consulting firm is beneficial.
