The Continuing Care unit is a specialized area that provides personalized support to residents under the guidance of a registered nurse, adhering to established care protocols. You will play a vital role in ensuring that residents receive emotional support and that their dignity is upheld at all times. Utilizing your strong assessment, organizational, and leadership skills, you will identify client needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to access the necessary internal and external resources.
Role Overview:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver a comprehensive range of nursing services to patients, families, and communities, prioritizing their safety and well-being. Your responsibilities will include employing nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. You will also educate, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families, playing a leadership role in promoting integrated and holistic patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. Your focus will be on providing safe, quality, patient-centered care while embodying the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.

Hours per Shift: 7.75
Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, completion of required courses is necessary.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. Strong capability to work collaboratively within a team, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility. Proven critical thinking, decision-making, and assessment abilities. Physically capable of performing all assigned tasks, which may include physical exertion. IV certification is mandatory. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a team environment. A minimum of two years of nursing experience in a supervisory role within the last five years is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience in Continuing Care or geriatric nursing is preferred. Experience with Connect Care is an asset. Charge nurse experience is also beneficial.
