About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Dispatch Manager to oversee our team of dispatchers at Reefer Sales & Service. The Dispatch Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and effective dispatching of technicians who are responsible for repairing trailer and truck refrigeration units.

This position requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement new processes and procedures, as well as establish a modern dispatching system that integrates seamlessly with our existing business operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of dispatchers, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high performance and efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve dispatch processes and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness and turnaround times.
  • Establish a new dispatching system that integrates with current business systems, ensuring real-time tracking and communication with technicians.
  • Monitor dispatch operations 24/7, ensuring timely and accurate assignment of service calls to technicians based on priority and location.
  • Strong computer skills, with intermediate abilities in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Collaborate with management to set performance metrics and KPIs for the dispatch team, analyzing data to drive improvements.
  • Model and strive for a high level of customer-service performance across the team.
  • Track and audit the flow of jobs and quotes.
  • Has experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and outside vendors to ensure timely dispatch.
  • Maintain effective communication with technicians, customers, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any dispatch-related issues or challenges that arise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and technology trends to enhance dispatch operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
  • Experience in Logistics & Transportation and/or service-related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years in a dispatch management role, preferably in the service and repair industry.
  • Experience with the Karmak Business System and Salesforce would be considered an asset.
  • Experience supervising, empowering, and managing teams.
  • Proficiency in strategic, high-level critical thinking.
  • An effective communicator who takes accountability and has a team-mentality.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, time management skills.
  • Applicants must be available to work Monday through Friday. Flexibility to work irregular hours and/or days as needed with a minimum of 40 working hours per week.
