Position Summary: The Boeing Vancouver office is looking for a Principal Solutions Architect to join our Data Science portfolio, working closely with the Manager of Data Science & Analytics. This role supports a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility to work both remotely and in the office.

This position involves collaborating with a dynamic team of developers, analysts, and data scientists to create AI/ML-driven solutions for Digital Aviation. You will partner with leadership, development teams, and stakeholders to establish and implement technical strategies and roadmaps that ensure the success of various products and initiatives. A solid understanding of software development standards, cloud infrastructure, and security protocols is essential.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for AI, ML, and data analytics. Responsibilities include overseeing the construction, maintenance, and enhancement of AI and ML solutions in secure local and cloud environments. As a key technical leader within a large, multi-project data science software development team, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to address business, technology, and solution architecture needs for both Commercial and Government applications.
  • Articulate architectural principles and governance to guide the design and implementation of analytics-based products and services.
  • Engage closely with Data Scientists, Business System Analysts, and Developers throughout the product/service lifecycle to evaluate technology and system impacts.
  • Provide technical leadership to deliver innovative products and services that fulfill customer requirements.
  • Advocate for architecture and data/information management standards and strategies.
  • Ensure system architecture complies with relevant security, safety, and regulatory standards.

Work Arrangement: This position requires a hybrid work arrangement, meaning the selected candidate will need to work onsite as required. The specifics of this arrangement may evolve over time.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 7+ years of experience in software development.
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud architecture.
  • Eligibility for authorization under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian Secret Clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Eligibility to handle US export-controlled data.
  • No risk to safeguarding controlled goods.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Experience supporting an AI or ML development team.
  • Experience with MLOps orchestration and infrastructure for analytics solution lifecycle.
  • Implementation experience in a big data ecosystem and integrating data analytics workflows into production software.
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud and/or AWS Cloud.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with development, deployment, and version control tools (e.g., Git, Jira).
  • Proven experience aligning technical direction with business strategy.
  • Understanding of service mesh architecture and related technologies.

Typical Education and Experience: Education and experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g., Bachelor) and usually 14 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Relocation Information: Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Candidates must reside in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Additional Information: This position is for a locally hired role in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and compensation are determined by Canadian standards and are not on Boeing US-based payroll.

Summary Pay Range: CAD 110,000 – CAD 195,000
